Now, I try to have an open mind and even sent him a picture on my phone of a dark red house with black shutters and a gray roof. It looked very nice nested in the wooded lot. But I still wanted yellow.
Color is very important in Feng Shui. Red can be auspicious and represents the element of fire. But when you look at the shape of the house it is clearly an earth shaped house (flat) and yellow reinforces that element. Besides, a painter friend says that red fades the fastest of any color and we would need two coats to cover the yellow.
We settled on yellow. But which one? It came down to two yellows. One was an exciting yang color called Decisive Yellow or a muted more yin Retro Yellow. There was no hesitation and Decisive Yellow it is. I wanted more yang to in our lives, more action, vibrancy, and light.
The outside of a house is the skin of the house and relates to skin issues. A coworker who is a nurse saw a suspicious mole on the back of my arm. She told me to get it checked out.
When the biopsy came back it was not good news. I had melanoma. Luckily, it was only the very first stage and yesterday it was completely removed. I'm expected to have a complete recovery.
My advise? Make sure that the outside of your house is painted and that no vines or foliage touch it.
